Slow Stitching, Twins & Dogs

We had a round of snow early Friday morning….enough for a school delay. Before my DIL brought the kids down to me, she took this photo of the twins.

How cute are these shirts!

For those of you that may have twins in your family I asked where she’d purchased them ( if online somewhere ) but they were custom made by a friend from church.

My youngest son’s birthday is on Sunday and we’ll all go out to dinner. On Friday night he went out with friends and left Koopa here. On Saturday afternoon the middle son, DIL, and the kids took Koopa and their dog Merle ( both are young ) a few blocks down to the fields behind the American Legion to let them run. They have some launcher for balls and the dogs run and run and run but in this case, my DIL sent a photo of them attempting to play tug of war with a “stick” that might have been a wee bit too big for them :)

( This is the same area that I showed not too long ago which was flooded / HERE )

While Koopa and Merle play non-stop when they are together, my dogs are old and he’s very adaptable. He just cuddles up. Here, he and Jugsy are snuggled up in a patch of sunlight in the dining room.

They were at my feet when I was sewing at the dining room table. I finished up two more Little Baskets, using Angela’s  Rainbow Scrap Challenge color of the month suggestion.

I generally try to join up with others on Sundays at Kathy’s Quilts where she hosts Slow Sunday Stitching.  There’s a nice variety of handwork to view and enjoy every Sunday, ranging from quilting activities to embroidery, cross stitch, knitting, etc.

I have a number of things that I can work on. I started another EPP Starflower, I have an applique block to finish prep work on, and I am ready to move the hoop and mark some more fans on Rose of Sharon in regards to hand quilting, which I’ve not touched for a good week. Hopefully I can work a bit on all of them or at least one, as the mood strikes! :)

Meanwhile, Easter is coming up….if you are planning menus or looking for a special dessert,  here’s one that I have had great success with :)

It looks like you have any number of wonderful stitching diversions to enjoy. I’m hoping to work on a quilt that I have in the hoop as well. Enjoy your Sunday!

I have never seen the saying that is on the twin’s shirts. How cute.

  8. I love seeing Koopa! He does seem very adaptable to his surrounding and doggy friends. He always reminds me of the two amazing pitties we owned–I still miss them terribly.

Your sweet twins are growing up so fast and the shirts are cute.

Dog photos are great, younger ones playing, older ones sleeping.

Your quilting work is lovely to see as always.

Have a great week ~ FlowerLady

I always enjoy seeing what you’re working on. My identical twins girls are now 33. The t- shirts are precious. Your raspberry coffee cake looks delicious and I notice you have the Curry and Ives dishes. Me too!

  14. I think I would eat that cake in one sitting :).

Precious twins and their T shirts are perfect! Our shelties are jealous of your Koopa & Merle playing on green grass – we haven’t seen that since November. But they totally get the snoozing in the square of sunshine thing! Happy quilting going on there…love the fan design…a classic.

  16. The girls look beautiful. I love the last photo of the quilt in the hoop. The quilt show we went to a few weeks back only included one quilt that was hand quilted. We can all take them to a long arm quilter, but not many of us can hand quilt like you do. :-)

  17. Kim says:

    The t-shirts are adorable!!

  18. What clever design for the twins t-shirt, they look adorable together! I love the dogawar pic too! They are so lucky to have you close for dog sitting!
