Quilting & Cats Sit on Things

I was marking some new lines in the quilt and caught Kanga sitting in the hoop.

If you have cats, you are familiar with how they sit on things.  Sure enough when I’d moved the quilt and hoop, I found her on my notebook.

I decided to remove that and put out a piece of paper …..and within 15 minutes or so, she was sitting on the piece of paper… ( a car rental receipt / long story, lol : )

A little later on, I removed that and put out a Dollar store receipt…

Sure enough….

Just having some fun here :) She’s always been involved with my quilting.

used to have cats years ago and yes they did this too and anywhere I sat they had to come and crawl all over me for five minutes before they got comfortable – they did put off some heat if a person got too cold in winter instead of grab a water bottle it was grab a cat!

    Cute story

Hello, Kanga is a sweetie. Loved the photos, the little receipt photo is funny. Happy Friday, enjoy your weekend!

  4. You should enter that next-to-last pic of her looking straight at the camera with the quilt behind into a contest. It is a sure winner!

I agree with Carole about the beauty of the picture with Kanga and the quilt! I love cats and enjoy being around my six. Like Kanga, they each have their individual quirks. One climbs inside a basket of silk flowers and pokes his head out like “WHAT?” Then he settles in for a nap. He could scare the h*ll out of anybody sitting down to eat at the table next to him!

And how is Javis doing? I’ve been praying – hope he went back to school and is feeling fine!

    • debralynnpugh says:

Joyce Javis is doing a bit better. They were off school today and I was there from 8-3 and while he’d been on 500 mg Tylenol he didn’t require any today plus he ate a lot better / more than the last few days. On the mend :) Still has to wear the brace though! Since he’s perking up so much the doctor will see him next week versus in two weeks. I am not surprised; he’s surrounded by prayer :)

There was a Youtube video where the owners would just tape a square on the floor and the cat would sit inside of it. My cat loves paper to sit on.

  8. She is an absolutely gorgeous cat, Deb! Does she have Siamese in her with those blue eyes? Super cute post!!

    • debralynnpugh says:

Debbie she was a rescue ; local vet had her there from the Humane Society. I went in to have a dog neutered and came home with the cat. I think maybe she has some Himalayan in her versus Siamese because she’s got fairly long hair and doesn’t have that distinctive Siamese meow ; not sure, though.

Kanga really is beautiful! Twiggy and Twursula are mostly into boxes! I got a new fake Christmas Tree this week and had the box in the hallway. All the cats have sat on it! Shebee is into sitting on anything black!

  10. Cats are so funny! Throw a box down and they’re in it!

  11. Colleen says:

Although I am deathly allergic to cats, I do adore their antics!

How funny is kanga! I have a dog who curls up on anything of mine knitting wool, edge of a quilt or my embroidery (especially if that’s put down on the sofa)

  19. Deb says:

What a look Kanga is giving you while on that receipt! I think she is on to you. So sorry to hear of Javis’s injury. Wishing for a speedy recovery for him.

    Sweet Kanga!
My kitty thinks hoops are sleeping circles.
    Happy Quilting!!
    Have a nice Thanksgiving.

  24. She will sit on anything but you can well see that she prefers to sit one something handcrafted, and who can blame her?

  25. Melanie says:

Cats are so cute. My three do the same – they always have to be sitting on whatever we’re working on or leave out. Their favorite thing to lie on is the Sunday newspaper!

  26. Cathy says:

Cute Kitty. I love the photo with the cat sitting in the middle of the quilt hoop. Hugs

  27. cheri says:

My husband, daughter and grandson are all allergic to cats, I absolutely adore them and your Kanga seems to have quite the personality, fun post.
