A puppy

My youngest son recently got a puppy. He’s always wanted one of these bluenose pit bulls and a friend was getting one and helped arrange for my son to get his as well.

Not too long ago there was a picture on Facebook of this son of mine holding his best friend’s newborn baby, falling in love. He’s always great with little kids. His logic was that if he couldn’t have a baby yet, as many of his friends were, he would be happy to start with the puppy of his dreams.

Ha! I fell in love in two seconds flat and snatched this little guy up for a snuggle before I let my dogs play with him. Then we took them all outside. It was chilly but sunny. I was not sure how the photos would turn out with the sun & shadows that afternoon but they are okay.

This pup’s fur just shimmers in the sunlight.

They all had so much fun playing together!  After that my other son’s family showed up and between playing with the dogs and then the little kids, that was one tired little puppy when he left here :)

Meanwhile my son is in love with his little pup and so am I.  Such a playful little guy, and then sweet and cuddly in the bargain.

  1. I’ve always heard this breed makes a good pet. Getting him as a puppy you’ll be able to train him, too! Have FUN! Hugs!

My son had a blue nose pit bull. It was a female who wore toenail polish. She was so patient…waiting for her nails to dry. I had to laugh…a pit bull with painted toenails.

  3. Balisha says:

    I forgot…..that’s a pretty dog.

OMGOSH! Is that ever an adorable little puppy!!!! His color is beautiful..he looks like smoke! I read through twice but couldn’t see a name. Did your son name him yet? I hope he grows up to be a sweet gentle big guy. You read such horror stories about pit bulls…and yet I know there are more good ones than bad ones. xo Diana

  7. I love watching dogs/pups play! What great shots. It’s always fun to snuggle up to a puppy. There are few things sweeter.

  8. OH he is a handsome dog…and a real heart stealer…

  9. Cute puppy. Pups usually precede those cute babies. :-)

  10. Treats are not the mainstay for rewarding your pet when training. Dogs will learn that if you give them a treat for a response they should expect it always. This is not necessary and should be reserved for occasional rewards. Dogs see loving, physical contact as a reward as well and will enjoy it much more than a treat that is gone in a split second.

He is a beauty! He will form a great bond with your dog getting to play with him early this way. I don’t blame you for wanting to kiss the heck out of him! :)

Oh he’s so cute! There’s nothing better than puppies and kitties. :)

  13. Margie Miller says:

He is cute but the breed has been ruined for me.

Locally, a man held his newborn baby, just coming home from the hospital, down for his dog to inspect and the dog bit the baby’s leg off.

I will never feel the same about the breed.

  18. I’m so jealous! We have a blue nose Staffy, too. I don’t know what we ever did without him…he is truly a huge joy in our lives. Everyone loves him and he loves them back. He’s so affectionate and loving. I know Koopa will be, too. Enjoy all the pibble kisses and snuggles…and get used to sharing your blankets and pillows with him. ;) He’s a gorgeous boy!

I have a mixed pit bull/? and a red nosed pit. I will NEVER have any other kind of dog again. They are the sweetest, most loyal, playful dogs I have ever had. I would say owned but to tell the truth they own me and I love. I hope your son has as much fun with his and we do with ours.

  20. Such a handsome little boy. He looks like he is having so much fun. Best of luck to your son and Koopa. :)

Hey there! Thanks for stopping by my blog. My son loves pitt bulls and also had a bluenose named Capone. He was a sweet dog but he reminded me of Scooby-Doo. He would come running with his legs going in all directions. I’m going to look around your blog and see what I can find. Hope you will come back to visit me. Hugs
