March 2017 : in like a crazy lion

There’s a saying around here that if March comes in like a lion it will go out like a lamb, or visa versa.

That has, for the most part meant that if March comes in like a lion, we will have howling winds and a blizzard of snow.

This year March 2017 started in the wee hours of the morning with lighting and thunder. Storms and heavy rain continued throughout the morning, with flood warnings and a tornado warning as well.

Late in the day it all cleared out and I took my sons’ dog Merle for a nice long walk, spent some time there when they arrived home from work and school and when I got back home I took out the camera for some late day shots.

The little squirrel was ready for some peanuts after the storm

UPS had delivered this beautiful Mary print for my altar.

And then the gorgeous skies!

Psalm 19;1 The heavens declare the glory of God…

I called this March beginning a crazy lion because we went from severe thunderstorms and a 60 degree high to plummeting temperatures and snow showers:)

we had the storms too but I believe it was the last day of February and then March 1st was chilly as could be – went from 70 one day to 50 the next – yes in like a lion I say too. Love your cloud photos

Wonderful cloud shots! I am loving living on a small hill with the best view of clouds we’ve ever had.

I love storms too, but only when no one gets hurt in them. I’m glad you’re okay there.

  3. Gorgeous shots Debbie!! Truly spectacular!

Hello, I heard about the crazy storms. The sky shots are beautiful. Love your Mary print. The squirrel is cute! I hope March is calm and warm, we will be heading back to Maryland soon. Happy Friday, enjoy your weekend!

  5. We traveled for three days this week and every day was like a new experience. Here’s hoping March goes out like a lamb after this start. Pellet stove is roaring. :-)

Crazy weather here in Michigan, too.
Beautiful clouds that always remind me of the pristine, beautiful world the Lord made for us. I couldn’t wait to fly through them on my first plane trip many years ago. Kind of disappointing when you actual do it – just white smog!
I love your little altar – reminds me of the saying “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

  7. It is indeed a crazy March. I’m sitting here in shorts!
