Grandmother’s Handwork : Embroidery

I had put some fall decor out not too long ago. It is quite traditional with oranges, reds and golds and that is one of the reasons that I wait until mid-October to bring it out.

Long view table behind couch

The table behind the couch is the one where the children like to play with things, so I just scatter gourds and acorns and mini pumpkins around. As you can see in the photo below one of the dogs is in the background.

Here is a close-up of her.

The cat decided to have a photo opportunity for herself.

I wish I could say that I had done this lovely handwork but it is my grandmother’s.  All of the acorns are done with raised knots. I bring this embroidery out every fall.  It is certainly a cherished heirloom.   The kitty has struck a lovely pose with it :)
