A full moon on Sunday, January 24th, also called the Hunger Moon or Wolf Moon. All that I know is that it was 3 degrees that morning and one shot from the back porch was all that I was taking! :)

We had some snow towards the end of the month; this year due to the mild beginning of winter the Robins did not leave. On this snowy bitterly cold day, I am sure that she’s one of many that regretted that.

Solstice, Christmas & Recipes

Solstice, December 21st,  is our darkest day of the year. We’ve been moving towards it and the beginning of winter for months. Now we move towards Christmas and increasing light thereafter.

“Joyful, joyful, we adore thee, God of glory, Lord of love; Hearts unfold like flowers before thee, Praising thee, their sun above :

late day prior to sunset

Melt the clouds of sin and sadness; Drive the dark of doubt away;

Giver of immortal gladness, Fill us with the light of day”

May you have a blessed week and a Merry Christmas, and if you are EVER feeling down, or blue, no matter what time of year it is, this version of that beautiful hymn will start you singing and dancing, if only for a few minutes :)  It is Sister Act 2 ( Finale ) Lauryn Hill-Joyful Joyful with Lyrics ( Ft. Whoopi Goldberg )

For the second year in a row, I’ll not host Christmas dinner…it will be at my middle son’s…the one with the tribe of kiddos :)  However Christmas breakfast will be here, and I intend to pull out the fine china and glassware as the little children love that.

If you want a good holiday breakfast recipe, I can certainly recommend this one, called “Hopple Popple“. It’s a tried and true winner. It’s on the menu for Christmas morning along with biscuits, blueberry muffins, assorted fruits and juices , etc.

Once breakfast is over and done with, and all of the dishes washed, I’ll work on a few sides to take to my son’s house for dinner later on. This Zucchini Casserole recipe has always been a big hit with the family. It’s a nice take on a stuffing+other things sort of casserole. I am making it for certain.

I have a list a mile long for the next few days and I will bet that you do too ??  :)
